Sorbi Dehumidifier Tenergy Changed Our Tiny House Bathroom Humidity
Florida is a very humid place. Most days we walk outside and instantly start to sweat. The spray foam insulation in Tiffany helps keep some of the moisture out of our home, but ultimately it’s inevitable that moisture gets in. This is especially true in the bathroom. Since we have a vent that leads directly outside for the exhaust fan, it’s that much easier for moisture to get into our bathroom.
Typically the bathroom door is closed since Oliver loves to eat our spider plant. 😼 On a typical day, as soon as I get home I jump into the shower, and by the time I am done with emails Sam is getting home from the last exercise class she teaches and immediately jumps into the shower. The back to back showers, even with the Delta Exhaust fan we installed, seems to keep moisture in the bathroom longer than we would like. The plants in the bathroom helped but we knew we needed something more. The Sorbi Dehumidifer was the perfect solution.
We were a bit skeptical at first. This thing was a lot smaller than the old school ones we remembered from growing up in the north. How could this tiny thing help us out? We first tried it in our living room area and didn’t really notice a diffrence. But then we brought it to our bathroom. To our suprise the dehumidifer worked flawlessly! After about 1L of water that was extracted from the bathroom (typically about two to three days for us) it was time to empty the unit. The unit has an “Auto shut off” feature so water does not over fill the unit while we are away. It’s indicated with a blinking red light, and it worked every time. The water storage is located flush with the back of the unit which helps keep its round design. Emptying the dehumidifer was simple: just pour the removeable container down the sink. We pour it in the toliet since it’s right next to it and is out of the way. Fits like a glove. It’s sleek and slim and is hardly noticeable in our small home, which is saying a lot!
On top of removing moisture from the air, the Sorbi Dehumidifer is an air purifier with a HEPA filter. What is a HEPA filter you ask? High-Efficiency Particulate Absorber, which means this is the same 99.7% particle reduction standard as used in the medical industry and is regulated by the United States Department of Energy (DOE). Aka- quality, and we definiatly notice a diffrence! Originally we used plants to help purify the air in the bathroom but we feel this took it to the next level and have noticed less sulfur smells coming from the water. #Floridawaterlife This was a big win in Sam’s book. She hates the sulfur smell that the water gives off, and this thing definitely helped out with that.
Next was the noise level we were worried about. Could we hear it at night? Was it loud enough to notice while we are in the bathroom? Its ultra quiet, according to Sorbi it is at 35-42db. To put that in perspective, the average Library is at 44db! #SHHH Honestly, if it wasn’t for the LED indicators on the unit itself we wouldnt even know it's on. 😂
Overall, this product was a great addition to our home. We are very picky with bringing new gadgets into our home since we are so limited on space, but this thing was worth compromising. We are thrilled with the results! Huge thanks to our friends at Tenergy for putting us on to this product. We won't go back! 😍
